It is already ten years since I was a part of a small group of PDCA members who worked with the EPA on behalf of PDCA.  Amazing as it seems, what we were working on then was the EPA's Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule.  A couple of us even helped with the original development of what is now the full day renovator training.  Between changing Presidential administrations and what seemed to me like a complete start from scratch approach, April 22nd of 2008 in the last year of the Bush 43 administration, the EPA finally unveiled the final rule.  It is no coincidence that the EPA Final Rule entered the Federal Registry on Earth Day.  The rule requires the use of  'lead safe' practices and many other elements to prevent lead poisoning.  Is lead poisioning a hazard?  Of course, however I will not be adding any of my own Ed/Op on the realities of what's involved and ahead for contractors and  propoerty owners or my thoughts on the realities of those hazards compared to the rules now in place.  My Ed/Op doesn't matter.

Now, onto the important and relevant points all contractors should be aware of.
